Submarines For Australia's Gary Johnston says that getting the submarines made in South Australia is a ‘flawed methodology’. jonesandco

Submarines For Australia's Gary Johnston says the defence department was ‘starry- eyed’ about what they believe the French were able to deliver in the form of a converted nuclear submarine, adapted with a diesel submarine.

Mr Johnston told Alan Jones on Tuesday that getting the submarines made in South Australia is a ‘flawed methodology’. Mr Johnston’s comments come after the federal government announced they will commission 12 new submarines by 2034 in a $50 billion deal.

UK PM heading for Brexit climbdown amid no-deal quit threats | Sky News AustraliaTheresa May could be set for an awkward climbdown to avoid a government walkout over Brexit.\n\nThe UK prime minister could be forced to delay Britain's scheduled departure from the EU, a suggestion she pushed back on yesterday, amid reports that several senior ministers are prepared to quit.\n\nThree cabinet ministers - Amber Rudd, Greg Clark and David Gauke - have publicly indicated that they could support a cross-party amendment to give parliament the power to stop the UK from leaving without a deal, and The Times reports that the trio will resign if Mrs May does not guarantee that Brexit can be delayed if her deal is rejected again.\n\nWith little more than a month to go until Britain is scheduled to leave the bloc, the prime minister is under pressure to push back the exit date after delaying a critical House of Commons vote on her withdrawal agreement.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n GideonCRozner Given that most Brits don't want it now, no it wouldn't. GideonCRozner How can giving the British people a say be undemocratic? I suppose only if it goes against the interests of TheIPA backer rupertmurdoch. GideonCRozner It'd still be hilarious
