Chief of Defence Force Angus Campbell told Scott Morrison he had concerns with the Prime Minister's office using ADF material in a social media video posted at the height of the bushfire crisis.

"Whenever the Australian Defence Force, or any other apolitical body, finds itself between political parties, I am discomforted," Mr Campbell said.

Department of Defence secretary Greg Moriarty said the government did not ask Defence for permission to use the material and no one in the department provided authorisation. He said he had not expressed concerns "formally" to the government in the form of a "submission or deliberate discussion". "I strongly view that departmental policy should be adhered to … approval was not sought, nor was it given."She said it was a "routine social media" post put out by the Prime Minister's office providing information to Australians and calling out reservists."[Approval] was not sought as it wasn't required," she said.

PM declares office was 'straighforward' in approach to sport grants scheme | Sky News AustraliaLabor has quizzed the prime minister over his office’s alleged involvement in the sport rort scandal, a claim Scott Morrison has repeatedly denied. \n\nOpposition leader Anthony Albanese used his time at the dispatch box to hammer questions at Mr Morrison over the grants programme, following evidence given by the Audit Office at a Senate estimates hearing on Monday evening. \n\n“How can the prime minister claim he simply passed on information on the corrupt sports rorts scheme when the Audit Office told parliament last night the list of sports rorts projects was changed after the election was called? I quote the Audit Office here: ‘at the request of the prime minister’s office,’” the Opposition Leader asked.\n\nMr Morrison replied by saying what his office “did was very straightforward”. \n\n“They passed on information based on the representations made to us, and that included information about other funding options or programs relevant to project proposals,” he said.\n\n“That statement is completely consistent with all of the matters that have come before this House and in other places.”\n ScottMorrisonMP And the proof says otherwise! 😡 ScottMorrisonMP If Labor accused Morrison of breathing he would deny it. Sounds super credible. then all our governments need to get real when it comes to neo-nazis & other white supremacists. give them the same zero tolerance we give to Islamic extremists. wipe. them. out. like we used to.
