In a case of life imitating art, Stephen Curry who played Dale Kerrigan in the classic Aussie film, joins his own David and Goliath battle against a mega powerline project at his property in rural Victoria.

Stephen Curry is no stranger to David and Goliath battles. In the 1997 classic Australian film The Castle, he played Dale Kerrigan whose family took their fight to save their humble weatherboard home to the High Court.Actor Stephen Curry joined a community meeting at Myrniong protesting against a mega powerline project slated for the area

"We're really concerned that this is money over people's livelihoods and the natural beauty of this land," Curry told ABC Radio.Landowners who have received letters from AusNet placed pins on a blown-up map. "Fair consultation is important. We haven't had that. Nobody here has had that. All we seem to have had is half-truths and untruths."Curry is concerned about the environmental impact as well as the increased bushfire risk posed by overhead powerlines in an already high fire danger area.

"If they say they've been able to do underground wire technology in Japan, and they've had it for 40 years, the fact that we can't do it here seems absolutely absurd." "If The Castle taught us anything, it's the importance of speaking up and not feeling like you don't have a voice."Kevin Maher, a fifth-generation potato farmer from Springbank characterised the project as a "huge monstrosity".

"There's a chance McCains might lose that production and jobs will go at the factory at Ballarat," he said.Moorabool Shire Mayor David Edwards said the council was pushing for the powerlines to go underground."The project will go ahead … but what we've got to do is make sure it's the least impact to the community.

Good luck hitting the 50% renewables by 2030 Vic target without 'mega' powerlines to connect 'mega' solar and wind projects with population centres.

Catholics shore up primary schools as enrolments diveSt Roch's Parish Primary in Glen Iris is bucking the trend with enrolments. Some other Catholic schools are not so fortunate as cost-conscious families and migrant communities choose government schools. Isolating kids in religious schools where they can be brainwashed must stop. Deprivation, Isolation, Repetition and Engagement = Brainwashing. Some parents might be actually choosing to not financially support a system that has created too many sexual assault victims. Not finding this to be the case in the North/West. Cannot get a place for my 4yo within 20kms. Local parish even has a wait list of families inside of the suburb.

How did we get to the point where cultures became museum exhibits displayed next to a look but don't touch sign? Once art is censored by pressure group mentality we have entered the neo Nazi era we so fear.
