A judge tells the County Court that he is unaware of another case where such a young child has suffered such abuse, as her father demonstrates 'little remorse' for the crimes.

A Victorian man who started sexually abusing his daughter when she was 18 months old has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to 14 charges.The County Court judge said he wasn't aware of a younger victim for this type of offendingThe man, from Gippsland in the state's east, was charged with three counts of sexual penetration of a child, three counts of incest, five counts of producing child pornography and committing an indecent act with a child under 16.

The victim told police the abuse occurred on weekends when she was alone with her father when she was aged between 18 months and six years. The victim's mother later discovered a USB stick with pictures of the victim being abused, which she reported to police.The court heard, when questioned about the USB, the man said it belonged to his then partner and he did not know who took the photos of his daughter.
