Co-chair of the Australian Republican Movement Craig Foster has announced his departure after fellow co-chair Nova Peris exited over the ex-Socceroo’s stance on the Gaza war.The ex-Olympian soon stepped down from her role, citing Foster’s “divisive and inaccurate comments on the Israel-Palestinian conflict” as her reason.
The activist's post on X, formerly Twitter, revealed he informed ARM CEO Isaac Jeffrey several months ago of his plans to move on from the co-chair position. Foster’s stance on the Gaza war caught the attention of Peris, who visited Israel following the October 7 attacks that sparked the ongoing conflict.
"My husband and I, we travelled to Israel, I saw first hand, I met with survivors, I met with families whose family members are still held hostage by Hamas."
