Education Minister Dan Tehan has warned about the prolonged economic impact the coronavirus could have on the nations university sector.

Mr Tehan warned on Sunday that unless there is a breakthrough in the next two-three weeks, the impact will directly be on Australian student numbers for the first semester.

As it stands, 56 per cent of Chinese students that were due to arrive and study in Australia are not able to do so since the federal government's implementation of the travel ban. Image: Getty

Well the gov should have done a lot more to stop it entering Aus in the first place.. Then we wouldn't be in this mess.
