Queensland has recorded one new case of COVID-19, a close contact of a known case. The state now has 26 active cases. Live updates:

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews to give daily COVID-19 update at 10.30am AEST.Queensland records one new casePremier Annastacia Palaszczuk tweeted out the new case, saying there were now 26 active cases in the state.

“I was lucky to be allowed to join for the final stages of labour and can honestly say as a first-time dad, I have never felt so helpless and proud at the same time,” he said. Interestingly, polls suggest the number of us who see Morrison as arrogant has come back down since the beginning of the year. You can put that down to general admiration for his handling of the COVID crisis. But here's something you might not have noticed: since late last year, the Prime Minister has offered four public apologies. He apologised for his Hawaiian jaunt, for the robodebt mess, for incorrectly asserting slavery hadn't existed here, and for failures in aged care.

"But to be doing so, to come to a top tier festival like Venice, to have your debut film premiere on the world stage, it's certainly a whole other layer of dauntingness," he said, adding he was happy and honoured to be at the world's oldest film festival. It is believed he came into close contact with someone linked to the initial Auckland cluster at the Americold coolstore.

Gladys Berejiklian implores Queensland to ease coronavirus border closure as NSW records eight new infectionsNSW has recorded eight new COVID-19 cases while Premier Gladys Berejiklian has again called for her Queensland counterpart to ease border restrictions. Cooperation is easy Gladys. Go for elimination and when you and Victoria have achieved it you can rejoin the rest of Australia! Then why isn't Gladdie cooperating with Qld & Vic, instead of siding with the evil Morrison against them? She's the only Premier to put her politics above the citizens of her State. Get off the ScuMoBus. You not what Gladys; just mind your own state business. If the borders aren't open, you can't blame everyone else.

Queensland's coronavirus border demands a 'tall order', NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian saysGladys Berejiklian said Queensland's demand that NSW eliminate COVID-19 community transmissions before it considers reopening its border is unreasonable. Our Covid is better than your Covid, so there. Tall order? Yesterday I would have sided with QLD. Today I seen the biggest double standard with the AFL big dogs swimming in pools and mingling while supposedly quarantining as EVERBODY else is required to do. Some can’t even recoup at home after surgery! What is happening?
