Gladys Berejiklian said Queensland's demand that NSW eliminate COVID-19 community transmissions before it considers reopening its border is unreasonable.

Queensland's demand that NSW eliminate COVID-19 community transmissions before it considers reopening its border is unreasonable and"a pretty tall order", Premier Gladys Berejiklian says.

Premiers Gladys Berejiklian and Annastacia Palaszczuk are at loggerheads over the border closure imposed by Queensland. The restrictions came under fire last week after a Ballina woman pregnant with twins lost one of the babies after being forced to fly to Sydney for the birth. "If you have confidence in your health system, confidence contact tracing is something you can do within your state, there shouldn't be a reason for you to keep your border closed given the low rates of community transmission currently in NSW."

Health Minister Brad Hazzard said a number of northern NSW border facilities, including Tenterfield Hospital, were now devoid of doctors. In NSW, the cluster associated with the City Tattersalls gym has grown by three to 52, while the cluster linked to St Pauls Catholic College in Greystanes and nearby Girraween Public School has increased to 12. Both schools reopened on Thursday.

Agreed. I'm over it. We will never stop this virus and it's time people woke up. Data shows the strategy needs to change.

Nah. Letting Ruby Princess passengers disembark and travel around the country is unreasonable

I say F*ck you Queensland. The North & South coast of NSW, are better than anywhere in QLD.

kelliekelly23 Annastacia's demands are over the top, unachievable and ridiculous. If she gets her way, the border can never reopen.

No it’s ridiculous

But ok with same border restrictions to SA? Oh, of course, Lib government there! (And apparently Broken Hill residents' problems don't rate like north coast residents)

Gladys impressive on 7.30 Report last night.

I wish NSW would be transparent about the number of infections

Haha. How is this unreasonable. Gladys needs to look after her own turf.

Get a grip Gladys

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 How does one eliminate something that doesn't exist ?

I think Qld is correct to restrict the virus entering the state from the southern border, its everywhere in Sydney, and its only luck that to not get it, I wish NSW could address our current situation better, so that we can open up to the rest of the country

With well over 6 million infections in America and a WH that is not following health advice at all, I’d say that the COVID-19 horse has well and truly bolted. Getting to zero after all that culpable governance does not seem possible. The greatest failure of leadership.

What a joke! Open QLD for tourism from overseas and c what happens. Wonder how tourism sector doing? Open the country up now.

Such a reasonable goal, but has to be spoken out by QLD CHO. Shame on you NSWCHO NSWHealth Clearly GladysB has never thought about people 's health and safety in NSW. All she wants is to open economy. She lies on everything for that. auspol koalakiller ScottyFromMarketing

Seriously. Nsw should just focus on themselves. Leave us to sort our own out.

Double standards AnnastaciaMP

Well done to QLD keep your state safe

Yet she's screwed the border region with her BS. Pot calling the kettle black. Expecting us to divide our lives in half here is also unreasonable. She's not fit to lead IMO.

Saving lives strengthens an economy.

Good idea GladysB ScottMorrisonMP AlboMP auspol

Is this one of those 'if hell freezes over' types of statement? 😂

It would take an intellect of the magnitude of Einstein to find a method of getting rid of any virus completely. An intellect that is missing from All Australian politicos.

So why not open your Victorian border Gladys?

Karma is a bitch.

Not surprised 😮 Labour fellas don’t understand economics

Seems pretty sensible to be honest..

Totally agree

I think that it's unreasonable that gladys runs NSW... when's the next election?

The same people who brought you the RubyPrincess are still running the covidNSW , no thanks zero confidence in NSW Health . Keep the borders shut .

We need some zones declared shut completely and open some corridors to allow travel and trade. Moree to Cobar to Broken Hill should be open. Tenterfield to Dubbo to Ivanhoe

I think it’s very reasonable and responsible decision.

Welcome to our world Gladys. Your honorary Victorian citzenship certificate is in the mail. Expect delays

Wanting to spread Covid-19 is selfish Gladys.

We all know Queenslanders are not quite right!!!!

Yesterday I would have sided with QLD. Today I seen the biggest double standard with the AFL big dogs swimming in pools and mingling while supposedly quarantining as EVERBODY else is required to do. Some can’t even recoup at home after surgery! What is happening?

Tall order?

Our Covid is better than your Covid, so there.

'A tall order': NSW says it may never meet Queensland's threshold to reopen the borderThe divisive issue of border closures will dominate Friday's national cabinet meeting, with Prime Minister Scott Morrison pushing for border restrictions to be eased in time for Christmas. Can we just get these border wars done with? Or do we have to sit back and wait till Qld Premier wins election she's vying to win? I'm in Victoria & no self interest but frustrated with this shit going with states! Perhaps if NSW were to redirect all the returned travellers to Queensland. NSW can become the next Queensland ..then we’ll close our borders to the cane toads and act all smug and elitist Thoughts and Prays
