ScottMorrisonMP A royal commission in response to a summit? What a useless bunch of pretenders . Delaying tactics by a Govt. that are too incompetent and useless to deal with issues. The minister needs to do his job or step aside and let someone else do it.

OMGTheMess ScottMorrisonMP They don’t need to be “actively considering” anything. They need to do something now, before more veterans decide to go down that road! Having served myself, I’ve seen mates struggle, die.... enough is enough!

ScottMorrisonMP Royal Commissions achieve bsolutely nothing in the current political climate... If and when you can get society to take them seriously, we can revisit the idea. The moment parliament sealed the records of known high profile paedophiles, the public gave up..... PaulKeating

ScottMorrisonMP How about an extended reservist scheme that utilises the skills of retiring veterans and also provides a pathway for misguided youth?

ScottMorrisonMP The reason we need so many royal commissions is b/c the govt isn't doing it's job; whether it be aged care, disability care, or veterans care. We have a Clayton's govt with Claython's leaders auspol

ScottMorrisonMP No royal commissions. They take too long. They cost a fortune. They produce colorful reports. Nothing happens. Lawyers are the only winners. Politicians work for constituents. Legislate to fix the problem.

Royal commission into veteran suicide 'should have solutions ready' | Sky News AustraliaThe Australian’s Political Editor Andrew Clennell says a royal commission into veteran suicide should have 'solutions ready' after mothers of veterans who took their own lives called for an inquiry during a meeting with Scott Morrison on Wednesday.\n\nThe mothers, three of whom lost their sons this year, shared their stories at The Daily Telegraph’s Save Our Heroes Summit after meeting the prime minister. \n\n“You get these royal commissions, they go for months, they themselves cost tens of millions [of dollars] at times, and you don’t always get the result you want,” Mr Clennell said. \n\nThe Courier-Mail’s National Political Editor Renee Viellaris said the prime minister seems “very serious about doing some things on veterans affairs”. \n\n“If parents give their kids to their country, to fight for the country, then when they come home we need to look after them,” Ms Viellaris said.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia What they need is better vetting of soldiers who join up, then intensive training to prepare for the battlefield to make them aware of what they will find. Too late once they arrive at the battlefield unprepared. Better still stay out of foreign wars. Still don't understand why we have to send our nation's sons to fight Islamic wars. They've been at it for 1400 years, killing each other and their women. We can't stop it.
