The owner of the Co-op bookshop will close more than 60 of its Curious Planet stores. 9News

The owner of the Co-op bookshop will close more than 60 of its Curious Planet stores after the company's administrator failed to find a buyer for the retail chain.

The University Co-operative Bookshop Limited entered voluntary administration in November last year owing more than $15 million in debts. The retailer owns the university bookstore and Curious Planet, which was formerly known as Australian Geographic. The decline in the purchase of textbooks has been attributed for the debt.
