It Takes Two has won the top gong at the 2021 Game Awards, a prize that has been previously won by The Last of Us Part II, God of War and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

It Takes Two, a co-op adventure about a couple fixing their broken marriage, has won the Game of the Year gong at the 2021 Game Awards.

Developed by Hazelight Studios, It Takes Two follows the story of May and Cody, who are going through a divorce. It Takes Two, available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, beat Nintendo's Metroid Dread, Resident Evil Village, Psychonauts 2, Deathloop and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart to take out the top gong.The Game of the Year Award has previously gone to The Last of Us Part II , Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice , God of War and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild .Last year, the Game Awards drew about 83 million viewers, whereas this year's Academy Awards had its smallest ever rating of just 9.

First the movie: Ben Schwartz returns in the titular role for Sonic 2 alongside Jim Carrey as Dr Robotnik with an ever bigger moustache.

I preferred 'Where's Barnaby' where you had to track the DPM around the planet collecting frequent flyer points, protecting him from Covid whilst making sure his alcohol content didn't fall too low or staff fell pregnant. Damn tough, haven't won yet.
