China's demand for Australian iron ore and coal has surged amid the coronavirus pandemic despite rising animosity between the two countries | ErykBagshaw

China's demand for Australian iron ore and coal has surged amid the coronavirus pandemic despite rising animosity between the two countries.

The new figures also show China's textile exports including masks have jumped by 32 per cent during the first six months of this year, with medical devices jumping by almost 50 per cent, pointing to a growing demand for Chinese medical products during the pandemic. Both exports and imports beat market expectations to record a positive result, putting China on track to become the only G20 economy to grow in 2020.

The Morrison government is preparing for further trade and diplomatic retaliation over its decision to offer a visa extension to 10,000 Hong Kong residents already in Australia in response to national security laws imposed on the former British colony by Beijing. The laws criminalise dissent in the Chinese territory which carry maximum life sentences in jail.

ErykBagshaw Well go figure

ErykBagshaw Then let then let them pay through the nose for it.

ErykBagshaw Here’s Proof, just how weak our Politicians are . One minute we get the Foreign Minister telling the people of Australia how “ we don’t take threats from anybody” next the Trade Minister satisfies the demands for natural resources to those that threaten. LOL!

ErykBagshaw We’d be stuffed without coal.

Tamara4Trump ErykBagshaw Time to up the price

ErykBagshaw Stop selling iron ore and coal to China

ErykBagshaw Zanaga_Iron_Ore are you boys still asleep at the wheel (rhetorical question)

ErykBagshaw Ask them about Hong Kong 🇭🇰

ErykBagshaw Of course they are taken our natural resources. They will hoard it and, as usual, sell it back to us in a sub-standard manufactured form. Extremely expensive.

ErykBagshaw Australia should put a 80 percent tax on Chinese exports

ErykBagshaw China wants our coal, add an 80% tariff

ErykBagshaw A tough talking government no much for the almighty dollar or Yuan in this case. Once the mortgage crisis hits this gov will be begging for more Chinese investment

ErykBagshaw The way things are going, I hope we are getting cash up front.

China warns citizens of 'arbitrary' searches in Australia and upgrades travel warningChina has stepped up a travel warning to Australia, telling its citizens of a risk of being searched 'arbitrarily' by law enforcement authorities, as tensions between both countries grow. Perhaps China should just stay out of Australia, instead of trying to be the world power they aren't. Being searched 'arbitrarily' by law enforcement? Really? Even if this were true, this particular travel warning hardly seems relevant at this time. 🙄 The Chinese citizens people so much of what their government tell them says a lot about them.
