Experts say Beijing and New Delhi are sending millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccinations abroad in the hopes of shoring up their international reputations and securing some political goodwill in return.

This week, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that "by participating in international cooperation on vaccines, China seeks to make vaccines a global public good".

"So when vaccines arrive … the ambassador of India or ambassador of China is there to receive the vaccines," Mr Taneja said. But there has also been a trend of media and netizens amplifying negative narratives around competing vaccine candidates.A report from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute has highlighted the battle being waged online and in each nation's respective media.

In fact, ASPI's analysis showed that of the 3,200 Global Times Twitter posts in January, those that mentioned the words "India" and "vaccine" had higher levels of engagement.

This is going to harm the reputation of the ABC as it reeks of propaganda. Countries not within our sphere of mutual cooperation would never help anyone, and would only seek to curry favour? Research the psychological term projection.

ABCs race-baiting continues while china & india show compassion for poorer nations.

China is unable to hand out vaccine data for academic peer review. Only daredevils would take it.

Well, they have the manufacturing

When it's India vs. China, always support India. India might be full of hypernationalistic traditionalists, but it isn't an ethnostate as much as China is. Can't see it going Nazi.

Might be stupid news from ABC Australia. There is NO “battle for vaccine supremacy”
