A brawl has erupted between construction workers at Brisbane’s Cross River Rail project as a picket line blocked employees from entering the site during a CFMEU strike.

Footage of the expletive-laden scuffle showed workers pushing up against each other as picketers, some wearing masks, called out “hold the line lads” and individuals broke off into their own fights. One worker later said, “you f---ng dog” when a man already on site opened up a gap in the fence to let the workers in.jumping fences into the state government’s $300 million Centenary Bridge upgrade during a right of entry dispute.

“The safety and wellbeing of all our workers on Cross River Rail and every CPB Contractors’ project is our highest priority.” The strike does not cover labour hire, subcontractors or Australian Workers Union members among the 60 remaining direct employees.
