The Commonwealth Bank’s head of business banking believed there would be strong pent-up demand for hospitality and retail, but finding staff would be a problem | clancyyeates

The Commonwealth Bank’s head of business banking says staff shortages will be the biggest challenge facing businesses as the economy reopens, with hospitality operators hit hard by border closures and workers quitting the industry.

“A lot of people that traditionally would have worked in the hospitality sector, which has been a very buoyant sector for so long, have started working in other sectors like agriculture, and moved into regional Australia from metro,” Mr Vacy-Lyle said in an interview. Mr Vacy-Lyle said the parks in Sydney crowded with people having picnics were a sign of pent-up demand, which was likely to result in stronger conditions as restrictions are opened this month. “Wait until the pubs open on Monday and thereafter, and I think we’re going to see a good rebound,” he said.He said there was unlikely to be a sharp increase in business failures as government support for businesses wound back, partly because many firms have adjusted to shutdowns.

Queensland's top doctors fear hospitals won't cope with 'inevitable outbreak' of COVID's Delta strainMedical leaders urgently call for real-time data from Queensland Health to help solve the hospital ramping crisis before interstate borders reopen. If only they had a bit more warning this was coming so they had time to prepare huh. TBH this is looking like a perpetual beg for more funding now. The thing is, the money flows in and nothing changes. Just open up the state. Lol funny to think 🤔 how did all these other countries cope ? Is Australia's health care system worse than Indonesia , the philippines Vietnam? I fear a big spider will drop on my head when I take a shower. Doesn't mean it will happen.

Mandatory vaccines needed to get Melbourne moving againBusinesses largely support the move to mandatory jabs because they want to reopen, and the statewide approach will save them from potential litigation or damage to their reputation, Paul Guerra writes. | OPINION covid19 vaccines springst Can't speak for business but the Feds are loving that Dan is doing it and copping the heat while they get the benefits of the greater numbers. You could read that into Greg Gunt's 'that's matter for the states' today. covid19vic 👮‍♀️Israel failed with 2 jabs! Started so called 3rd and 4th booster jabs. Africa is doing better as they are taking artemisinin. India and Japan started Ivermectin! Who is collecting money from the vax ? Vax is positive related with infection! Time to have alternate treatments! So it's all optics, who cares that the vaccine doesn't actually inoculate , we can just all cover our asses.

Furious response to 'poisonous' letter from Darwin hospital bosses sent to 'burnt out' frontline staffSenior doctors say bosses at Darwin's main hospital have worsened already low morale and damaged the facility's reputation with a letter warning junior doctors they would be blacklisted if they left before their contracts were up. Asking doctors to do their job. How awful. Ohh I had a friend that worked there! It mentally scarred her! She left after being bullied and treated unfairly. She said she would never return because the workplace and culture was so toxic. Not surprised all of this. And where the hell is she going to fly healthcare staff in from? The only ones out there are the intelligent unvaxxed Doctors and Nurses and I am sure they wouldn't choose septic Australia to come to!

I love seeing the males go out to play sports, dine together and attend school and be happy while the women are stuck inside to do nothing. The afghan economy Withers because of 20 years of US invasion and the corrupt government they put in charge . Taliban just taken over not even a month ago after the US and NATO embarrassing defeat . Also madrassa means school .
