Australian Jason Day's single-minded belief he can return to the top of world golf is coming with the help of a friend and foe - Tiger Woods | app85

Jason Day's single-minded belief he can return to the top of world golf is coming with the help of a friend and foe - Tiger Woods.

Day revealed he has sought counsel about his back from 15-time major winner Woods, who had spinal fusion surgery to resurrect his own career.Asked about the status of a new coach, Day said: "It's just really difficult for me to at least go around and talk to any coaches or the potential of having a coach.

"Obviously I'm still playing against Tiger, but he's very open to me about the golf swing because of the specific questions that I've tried to ask him in regards to ... get back into your right hip on the back-swing, which will tidy up certain things in the golf swing that I'm trying to work on, and then a few more questions in there."

Day joked he applied so much Deep Heat on his back it was almost "burning my skin off" during the PGA Championship. "Now granted, he's a young guy. He seems like he's got a good team around him, so he may be able to handle it a lot better, but I may eat my words and he may be out here for 20 or 30 more years and still do the exact same thing."But going through what I've done, it can be very difficult to add that weight and try and add that speed very quick."
