Nationals Senator Matt Canavan has urged the Coalition to turn its attention to inflation before it spirals out of control, accusing the RBA of adopting an overly “sanguine” fiscal policy. His comments come as the Morrison government prepares to hand down a big-spending federal budget later today which is expected to put the Commonwealth in deficit for decades. “I’m a little concerned at the RBA’s seeming sanguine attitude to leaving interest rates very, very low for three years.
