The full High Court begins hearing arguments on whether native title can remove public access to beaches north of Broome in Western Australia.

The chairman of the Jabirr Jabirr/Ngumbarl native title organisation, Wayne Barker, said traditional owners were more interested in regulating public access to popular camping areas, rather than restricting it.

"You know, random fires and people just camping all over the place and destroying our country, so we're taking back control of that and it's a good thing, and it's a good thing for everybody." "This whole country is full of tenure and permit systems and all of that, and everyone is quite happy to abide by," Mr Barker said.

The WA Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Lands, Ben Wyatt, said in a statement the Government wanted to maintain beach access for all people.

Will this movement of “let’s undo all invasions that occurred through history” permeate throughout the world or is it just we saps that will succumb to it?

That's the end game. Positive apartheid.

TheirABC, happy to support apartheid and blacks only beaches.

The only continent that humans are 'native' to is Africa.

it'd be a farce if we can not go to d beach because of native title It'd be apartheid like Sth Africa Uluru is owned by blacks n they charge money n can block access It should belong to all Not exclusively black They r claiming native title over iron ore inWA Unworkable

I wouldn't put it past it... Wacky judges will rule so that only asylum seekers and aboriginal people are allowed on our beaches, to hunt wombats...

I hope so.

Inside the public service shakeup: what it really says about Morrison's GovernmentShortly after the federal election, I had a conversation with a figure at the very centre of the Government. I remembered his extraordinary reflections again this week, as the knife came down on the public service. Hi Twitter. Very interesting read here. I wonder if the ABC will be pressured to take it down?
