Despite being favoured to take out the sixth stage of the race, the Australian sprinter is beaten on the line by Frenchman Arnaud Demare.

Caleb Ewan has been left crestfallen by the narrowest of defeats on the sixth stage of the Giro d'Italia after an exhilarating blanket finish featuring the race's three fastest men.Caleb Ewan was pipped on the line by Arnaud Demare, who 'threw' his bike across the line in a photo finish on stage sixSpain's Juan Pedro Lopez remains in first place with his overall 39-second lead

But on his outside, French sprinter Arnaud Demare swooped, and with one final "bike throw" lunge towards the line, edged to his second win in consecutive days in the closest of finishes to the 192 kilometre stage. After time to reflect, he was a bit more sanguine about the loss, quoted on his team Lotto-Soudal's website as saying: "I just got beaten by an inch … we need to take away from today that it could have gone our way as well.It was, though, another deflating setback for Ewan, who has had a tough time in the four sprint stages contested so far as he seeks to take his tally of Giro stage wins to six.

Demare, the three-time national road race champion, looked in scintillating form as he took his seventh career stage win on the Giro — more than any won by a French rider.

Why falling property prices are actually bad news for first home buyersFalling house prices may not be the blessing for first-time buyers it seems, with higher interest rates reducing their borrowing capacity more than any likely decline. jcollett_money The only “good” news for 1st home buyers is that their parents, and preferably both, have suddenly been killed and left them the house. Still hope they had enough equity and your an only child if you wanna buy in Sydney jcollett_money Send back the Union Jack Referendum jcollett_money Really need to limit the number of properties people can buy, many established Australians have multiple and are able to easily buy more. They are squeezing the market for new buyers. Please limit properties or at least cut investing tax benefits.
