New Zealand Warriors,Interim Role,Parramatta Eels

NRL: The NRL 360 panel discuss which coaches could be in line to take over from Brad Arthur and the Eels, with Braith suggesting Jason Ryles could be the best fit.

‘Buy him out’: Ryles leading race to replace BA unless Eels can pull of bold bid for current NRL coach

“This is important if it is not Wayne at Parramatta who is it going to be?” Braith Anasta asked on NRL 360. “I would imagine that would include Jason Ryles, Michael Maguire and Josh Hannay are the obvious ones. Braith Anasta believes the Eels should canvas all possible targets, but doubts Webster will walk out on the Warriors.“But you are right they could make a fair play at him and get him back to Western Sydney. It is something that Parramatta could definitely do, but I don’t think it will happen.

Anasta believes Ryles is the best option out of the head coaches in waiting that are untested at NRL level.“I think he will be the coach for a number of reasons. He has been waiting in the wings for a while. “He has done his time. he has done his apprenticeship. He has been at the Roosters. He has witnessed success. He has played at the highest level.“With the roster they have got at Parramatta, I think he would like that more than what he had at the Dragons at that time. However, Dean Ritchie questioned if the Eels need a veteran coach rather than a rookie coach to work with their ageing roster.
