Assistant director-general of the Department of Communities Paul Whyte is facing two counts of corruption.
A second man, who is not a public servant but is an associate of the 56-year-old, is also facing the same charges. The pair allegedly manufactured false invoices at the department over a two-year period and had money paid into company bank accounts before withdrawing it for personal use.
