A “bubbly” drama student tragically died just hours after she said she was raped at a house party, leaving friends and family distraught.

Megan Younger-Watson, 17, who was described by her family as “beautiful, polite and funny” was allegedly sexually assaulted after drinking in a pub.

The inquest heard on Tuesday was told Megan, went to a party at an apartment with friends where Megan reported being raped. The inquest heard how paramedics and police found her dead inside after breaking the door down and were unable to revive her. Phyl Chigome, services manager at the student residences, said the concierge had tried to ensure Megan was safe, but the inquest heard how he had not contacted the on-call manager over any concerns.

Senior coroner Nigel Parsley said he felt Megan’s behaviour on the night before she died seemed “out of character”.
