Bryce Cotton walks out on Perth Wildcats after NBL imposes coronavirus pay cuts

Perth Wildcats star Bryce Cotton has walked out on the final year of his contract with the club, citing unforeseen circumstances.

Cotton was one of the players most heavily affected by the NBL's decision to impose pay cuts across the league in response to the coronavirus pandemic and he appeared to reference those cuts in his post. His salary paid him more than $200,000 per season, with the cost-saving measures meaning he would have taken a 50 per cent cut next year.

"However, the NBL and ABPA's agreement to cut salaries has led to his decision," the club said in a statement.Cotton leaves as an all-time great In his three-and-a-half years in the competition, he steered Perth to three championships and was named grand final MVP twice in the process, including in his first season with the club.He was also named the league's most valuable player in 2018 and again this season — becoming the first player in Wildcats history to be awarded grand final MVP, regular season MVP and win a championship in the same year.Across his NBL career he averaged 20.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.3 assist and 1.

No money is better than some money. Good move.

Silly. Only income he would be getting.

Good riddance

He had no choice considering how the nbl walked out on his salary

So now he has no income? I guess I should read the article but don't want to waste my time on a dry baby like him.

Probably like victims of crime. Should of thought about consequences when you knowingly committed crime As someone who regularly makes deliveries inside Victorian prisons, I can say the authorities are taking maximum precautions to ensure the virus doesn’t enter the prison system.
