Prisoner seeking temporary release fears he's a 'sitting duck' if COVID-19 gets into jails

A prisoner with medical conditions has argued he is a "sitting duck" in prison and should be released temporarily if Corrections Victoria cannot mitigate the risk of a COVID-19 outbreak.Mark Rowson suffers from asthma, a chronic heart condition and uncontrolled blood pressure, the Supreme Court was told

Mark Rowson, 52, is currently serving a jail term in Port Phillip Prison and has argued the prison is not carrying out appropriate physical distancing and hygiene practices. "Once it [COVID-19] gets into the prison, he is at serious risk, which is a product of his incarceration," Mr Nekvapil said.

Give him an extra year for wasting taxpayer resources on this nonsense.

Like the teachers told they must earn their crust / prove their dedication to children: education: nation etc etc by going back to work?

Do the crime do the time

Maybe don't go to jail in the first place..

Suck it up Princess.

He is in isolation WTF

I wonder if their victim feels like they were an innocent 'sitting duck'?

Sir , Are you Loking for logo ? Please contact

like his victims?

Yet we the law obiding are sitting ducks if prisoners are released.

Google says this guy defrauded a terminally ill man for $300,000... Good luck with that

They could throw him in to solitary for 6 months.😂👍

96% of those testing positive in US prisons are symptom-free. Wait, what?

I would hazard a guess that Prisons would be Far better managed than aged care.

stiff shit

This report doesn't state the nature of his crime therefore rendering it pointless.

As someone who regularly makes deliveries inside Victorian prisons, I can say the authorities are taking maximum precautions to ensure the virus doesn’t enter the prison system.

Should of thought about consequences when you knowingly committed crime

Probably like victims of crime.

Australian experts to train animal disease detectives to help prevent another pandemic - ABC NewsForty experts from the Asia-Pacific will train animal workers spot virus outbreaks before they even begin, in a new government-funded scheme to reduce the risk of another virus crisis. 'ABC forgets' documentary which ‘absolutely skewers the renewable energy industry’ | Sky News AustraliaA new documentary produced by the “far green left” has in fact put the argument forward “that renewable energy is not clean, not green and not practical,” according to Sky News host Chris Kenny. \n\nEnvironmental documentary film, ‘The Planet of the Humans,' absolutely “skewers the renewable energy industry,” Mr Kenny said. \n\n“The film goes on to attack major corporations for their pretense, their virtue-signalling on renewable energy”. \n\nMr Kenny said the stance taken in the documentary is “kinda strange” given the executive producer is Michael Moore, who is a “millionaire, leftist, academy award winning director”. \n\nMr Kenny said, “why isn't the ABC talking about this, showing this, debating this?”\n\n“They usually love Mike Moore's films; they usually love to promote the political films of the green left”. \n\n“This one goes too far for them of course, it attacks renewables and it attacks climate alarmists that they regard as secular saints, like Al Gore”. \n\nHe said the new film, “seems to present too many inconvenient truths” for even the ABC to report on.\n And he's 100% correct. Renewable energy is a scam for investment bankers, billionaires and the fossil fuel industry. Ffs how is Kenny (yet again) linking something to the ABC? This time a foreign doco. What a right boor What does ‘the far green left’ actually mean? I presume we need a ‘far brown right’ to balance them up, who are they?
