Yeah, we just craved that simplicity of recording. Let's just play the songs well. Let's write good songs and sing them and that was the driving force behind this keeping things simple. And it was so, I don't know, it sounds like a really simple thing, but for someone to want to hear the same song over and over again to just understand it, it was so affirming and validating.
And I went off and started a project that was adventurous in psychedelia, and it was cool. It was a good gap to have.
