Analysis: Breaking Barty: Why the Aussie ace wins, but where she could come unstuck | petryan

Ash Barty is aiming for her third grand slam title with victory in tonight’s Australian Open final. She’s attempting to win her first home grand slam

with the No.1 seed the overwhelming favourite against America’s Danielle Collins. Barty has not lost a set and has only had her serve broken once in the tournament. She is yet to be forced to a tiebreaker and she seems unbeatable... but is she?Barty has played ruthless, clinical tennis throughout the tournament. Yet to drop a set, she has taken each point on its merits - no histrionics, no pleas to the tennis gods, just a robotic efficiency applied to the most stylish of games.

It forces her opponent to react as it changes the speed of the point, either slowing the rally down or speeding it up to a conclusion that Barty suddenly controls, as space is created on the other side of their net for her to place the ball. If the pace doesn’t get them then the spin will. Being unable to control the tennis ball because of what an opponent is doing is as frustrating as it gets for those raised in the crash and bash era.

when he sees opponents frantically practising defending the shot the day before they are due to face his charge.. She has served 35 aces, ranking her second behind Madison Keys who she defeated in the semi-final. Barty has been getting 59% of her serves in, slightly below the tournament average of 61% but when they land they explode with her kick serve rearing like a cobra.

Breaking Barty: Why the Aussie ace wins, but where she could come unstuckAsh Barty has the chance to become the first Australian to win the Australian Open since Chris O’Neil in 1978. She is yet to lose a set all tournament and seems unbeatable. But is she? ANALYSIS by petryan Barty AustralianOpen petryan I don't normally have much time for sports stars or bubble-brain celebrities but Ash Barty is a dead-set legend. She is so humble and modest and just... herself. That's why I love her. Go Barty! petryan You think Australia has a tall poppy issues... The adage, 'break a leg' stems directly from the concept of revengeful, and jealous gods tossing thunder bolts at those of contumacious, and haughty attitude. So wishing one ill luck, is actually good luck.

Australian Open 2022 semi-finals: Ash Barty v Madison Keys – live!Game-by-game report: Join John Brewin for updates from the women’s semi-finals at Melbourne Park I love Ash. She's a very cool chick and great ambassador. When I watch this match though, it's so obvious that it's many levels below the men's tennis. Women just aren't as strong and coordinated. I feel so bad thinking trans players will come in and destroy them physically.
