BREAKING: Senior government sources have confirmed that all retailers and department stores, except for essential services, will shut in Melbourne

News.com.au has confirmed that the most shops will be shut down for six weeks – except for essential services like supermarkets and pharmacies – in a move that is likely to trigger thousands of job losses and stand downs.infections, which plunged Melbourne into an unprecedented lockdown and saw regional Victoria adopt tougher measures.
