under Labor’s cornerstone heavy emissions policy, declaring there will be a vital need for additional gas in coming years.

The minister’s vigorous defence of the need for additional gas supply echoes Prime Minister Anthony Albanese remarks atthat the fuel and industrial feedstock must play a key role in the transition to clean energy. “We receive criticism from the left and the right,” he says. “But we continue with alacrity because this middle way is the right way.”Mr Bowen urged the Greens and Senate crossbench to support the safeguard mechanism legislation, which would allow 215 of the biggest industrial, resources and manufacturing facilities to create and trade carbon offsets as they adopt technology to beat their requirement to cut emissions by 4.9 per cent a year.

That’s odd a few weeks ago he was telling us how terrible, outdated and dirty fossil fuels were.

This bloke has been sold a pup buy the green public service, and is finding the truth a bitter pill to swallow. Like the treasurer, he will find there is a bus coming.

Also remember he was one of the most vocal critics of the NBN when labor was first pushing the plan (and he was a telco CEO).

Proposed child future fund should be ‘directed towards education’: Chris MinnsNSW Premier Dominic Perrottet’s proposed future fund for children is an “expensive policy” and should be “directed towards education”, says NSW Opposition Leader Chris Minns. “We need to lift the level of performance across the education system in this state,” Mr Minns told Sky News Australia. “I’d much rather make sure that the gift to the future generations is a world class education.” I'd rather take my $400/year and compound it in $Hex and PulseChain !!!
