The British Prime Minister has hit pause on his Brexit deal after losing another crucial vote on the floor of Parliament.

For the first time, lawmakers embraced a deal and voted in favor of Boris Johnson's agreement 329 to 299. However second key vote deciding the timeline to pass the deal through parliament was rejected by a slim majority of just 14.

The British PM told Parliament the only responsible course of action was to escalate preparations for a no-deal Brexit and seek another extension from the European Union. Mr Johnson has threatened to scrap the legislation and call a snap general election if he lost the vote, requiring a two-thirds majority to force an early poll. The British Opposition Leader has asked for a reasonable timeline to be considered.
