Borders must remain closed until virus is 'eliminated': Greens leader | Sky News Australia

Greens leader Adam Bandt says domestic borders must remain closed until the coronavirus is eradicated in Australia. “To the Prime Minister and everyone else who’s been clamoring to say that the borders need to be opened up across the board, I’d say look at Victoria,” he said.

“Look at what we’re having to go through at the moment with these very onerous restrictions that we’re mostly supportive of – and certainly the Greens are supportive of – because it’s about bringing down the casualty toll. “Is now really the time you want to be saying open up the borders? Do you want to have a Victorian-style situation in your state?” Mr Bandt said an "elimination" strategy was the best option because “it’s got to be a health first approach”.
