Australians have marched in the streets of Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Cairns and Kempsey amid continuing global anger over the death of African-American George Floyd at the hands of police.Thousands of protesters gathered at Adelaide's Victoria Square demonstrating in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.Fewer than a thousand people have gathered for a Black Lives Matter protest in Brisbane city, leaving organisers disheartened by the poor turnout.
"Deaths are continuing to happen in Australia - Dave Dungay Jnr said 'I can't breathe' before dying in custody," he said."We will continue to hit the streets and disrupt until there is justice." Organisers are also calling for anti-racism training in schools and an end to racial profiling by police.In Adelaide, organisers said the rally comes at a historic moment in the fight against systemic racism.

As a Maori girl bought up in WA in the 70’s I’ve experienced racism from a young age. I stand in solidarity with all First Nations people and marched proudly today (mask on). As someone else commented I find it odd that people criticise a movement that seeks equality
Very much on the side of BLM & planned to support both constitutional change & need for voice on all 1st nations issues, however stopped listening now as protests are risking too much. You are now risking a considerable backlash not on BLM but on protest stupidity.
