A bizarre standoff has been caught on camera at the Prime Minister's media conference in Caberra after a Chinese journalist demanded a camera oeprator stop filming her.

The woman, who reportedly works for a Chinese state-owned media organisation, confronted an SBS crew after she noticed them filming in her direction. Veteran Australian journalist John Lyons commented on the exchange on Twitter, saying anyone at a parliamentary press conference should expect to be caught on film. "This happens regularly in China. It should not happen here," he said.
