Australia's biotechnology heavyweights, including CSL, are calling for governments to use a broader range of expertise and data-driven insights from across the sector to manage the critical period between when cities reopen and the rollout of a coronavirus vaccine.
"This is going to require data-driven decision making that is refreshed as the situation evolves, as well as sustainable, long-term planning, informed by people with the right domain expertise." Managing director of Roche Diagnostics Australia Allison Rossiter said it was important "as many voices as possible" were involved in planning reopenings, but that they must be "voices with evidence".Roche Diagnostics has been athroughout the pandemic, and Ms Rossiter said it was more important that ever that governments had strong relationships with and insights from businesses.
"This [collaboration] is happening a little bit already, but a strong collaboration must continue so that we can bring the best solutions," she said.
