With a record number of Australians embracing the convenience of getting their democratic duty done by voting in pre-poll centres, the trend could cause a serious delay in getting a federal election result, AEC Commissioner Tom Rogers says. LIVE UPDATES:

Things have just wrapped up here in the seat of Corangamite, with Scott Morrison holding a press conference after touring yet another first homebuyers house.

"So whose idea was it? Was it over a palmy?" Mr Morrison asked the owners of their decision to join forces and live together."it's hard. It's really hard," the Prime Minister said. "This is the most effective local member Corangamite has ever seen," Mr Morrison replied, in a nod to Sarah Henderson, who was standing next to him.

"Absolutely not. In fact we have seen an example where the Labor Party have absolutely deserted the people of Corangamite and Geelong, and frankly western Melbourne," she said. "What Australians need to know, I think, is in those key portfolios: Treasury, Josh Frydenberg. Defence, Linda Reynolds. Home Affairs, Peter Dutton. Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne. These are the critical portfolios, together with the Prime Minister and of course Finance with Mathias Cormann," he said.

billshortenmp They will do more for this country and move it forward than billshortenmp has in his life

billshortenmp If these right wing jock itches get elected again, our beautiful country will be ruined by Christian white males, and that will destroy what cohesion weve been able to achieve so far. It would re-Menzies us into social stultification. No vision LNP.

billshortenmp Would be fantastic would keep you all honest

billshortenmp When we the libs realise that Abbott’s been poison for years, put the mad man to bed and move on

billshortenmp Still vastly preferable to the Shorten, DiNatali, Get Up axis.

billshortenmp Will Bill get his day in Court? Untouchable

billshortenmp At least the UAP are not funded by the CCP! If Labor win this election there will be celebrations in Beijing.

billshortenmp It's exactly where this nation needs to go. No Labor, No Greens. Australia will be a happier place without these divisive morons running around

billshortenmp billshortenmp the thought of you and the Greens terrifies me more

billshortenmp It would be a damn site better than a AustralianLabor and Greens alliance- now that’s scary. Please PutLaborLast

billshortenmp When employees are terrible they get the sack. Time to sack Abbott.

billshortenmp Be a whole lot more interesting than the uinparty holding power again. I say bring it on.

billshortenmp So many trolls with no followers posting anti Greens/Labor shite. I wonder if there are any real people who agree.

farrm51 billshortenmp Tony's how-to-vote card for the senate puts Clive Palmer no.2. Also Tony's stooge is handing out Jim Moylan's how-to-vote cards. Put Tony no.10, below Fraser Anning just to make sure. auspol

farrm51 billshortenmp Ha ha. Poor Billy thought he was gonna walk it in. Now he is in stage 4 unhinged panic mode. Very funny to watch. slippingaway

billshortenmp Imagine a government controlled by the Greens! That would be a much scarier prospect.

billshortenmp Better than Shorten and his band of muppets

billshortenmp Better than Labour holding it. Lesser of two evils

billshortenmp Imagine a situation where the Greens prop up a Labor government which then goes on to disastrously change our border laws which directly results in the deaths of thousands and the incarceration of thousands more. Then imagine the entire left pretending that didn't happen.

billshortenmp it will be that strange thing we call democracy. How wonderful it would be if we had real proportional representation?

billshortenmp Labor / Greens would be a thousand times worse.

billshortenmp Do not let fearmongering from either of the major parties get in your head. Voting for minor parties & independents forces them to be more responsive to voters instead of donors. Only putting the big parties last will make them respond.

billshortenmp Imagine if the Greens hold the balance of power. What a disaster! No mention of them, Bill, which is frightening & tells a tale of what's installed. Economic crash beckons!

billshortenmp Couldn’t be any worse than having the Greens control the senate.

billshortenmp Probably better than labor

Bill Shorten close to tears as he condemns newspaper over story about his motherBill Shorten has savaged a 'gotcha' report in the The Daily Telegraph about his mother's life and career in an emotional press conference that brought him close to tears auspol I can understand his disappointment . Damn Telegraph report typically liberal suck..propaganda. I’m sure his mother was a lovely person, but we need to stop hearing personal anecdotes from Bill, and start hearing more about facts and figures. He continues to divert to anecdotes, instead of being direct with his answers As much as Bill is hurting. It is refreshing to see a Politician speak emotionally and of love for their family. It's just disgusting that the media have to get into the gutter with such rubbish
