At the UN General Assembly, the US President slammed Russia’s threats of using nuclear weapons and warned of China’s nuclear buildup without transparency.

| US President Biden has condemned Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and accused President Vladimir Putin of making “irresponsible” threats to use nuclear weapons, while urging nations to strengthen their commitment to nuclear non-proliferation.

In an interview with Reuters, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg denounced Mr Putin’s threat to use nuclear weapons as “dangerous and reckless rhetoric” and said the mobilisation plan to call up 300,000 reservist soldiers demonstrated “that the war is not going according to his plans”. “We stand against global politics of fear, of coercion,” he said, noting that the US embraced “principles like freedom of navigation, respect for international law, and arms control...”

The UN General Assembly is meeting in person for the first time in two years after the pandemic curtailed its activity. The war in Ukraine, climate change, soaring inflation and the energy crisis are among the main issues being discussed by world leaders. “My administration is also working with our Congress to deliver more than $US11 billion a year to international climate finance to help lower-income countries implement their climate goals and ensure a just energy transition.”

World leaders react to Putin’s nuclear weapon threatThe world's leaders have reacted to Russian President Vladimir Putin's nuclear weapon threat, with US President Joe Biden using his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York to encourage member nations to take action. In front of Russia's delegates, Mr Biden called the threats by the Russian President a direct violation of the UN Charter and also reiterated his position on the referendums to be held in occupied Ukraine regions. UK Prime Minster Liz Truss met the US President shortly after to discuss heightened global tensions. Ms Truss is calling for a united front from the West in response to Putin's threat of nuclear warfare. Weird.... They didn't behave like that after the US actually used nukes,.... twice.....on a surrendering nation,.....in civilian areas..... Almost as if the US is the biggest terrorist state ever to exist. “Surrendering nation”? Dude what history book did you read?
