Perth travel bloggers Jolie King and Mark Firkin have been confirmed as the Australian couple detained in one of Iran’s toughest prisons.

The couple were arrested in Tehran for allegedly flying a drone without a permit.

They are being detained in the capital’s notorious Evin Prison, which is also home to detained British mother Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

Three Australians locked up in Iranian prisonOne of the prisoners is an Australian academic who studied at Cambridge University in England. The other is a British-Australian blogger who was detained by Iranian authorities in a separate incident. The pair have been in custody for several months. We seem to be getting this more often that people who have come here and obtained Australian citizenship return to the countries they fled from in fear of their lives and then when they get in trouble demand the Australian government rescue them. Maybe stay away. Why travel to a country like that just asking for it
