About two million Australians are on part, or full, old age pensions and normally they receive two Consumer Price Index (CPI) increases each year. 9News

"This is one of those issues that comes in a pandemic. You don't expect those indexes to go negative," Prime Minister Scott Morrison said."If inflation goes down, the reasons to adjust the pension up has disappeared. So, in an imperfect world the government could reduce the pension... but they are never going to do that," Mr Switzer toldChildcare costs have been cut by 95 per cent, petrol has been cut by 16 per cent and preschool costs have gone down as well.

While inflation hasn't done much for seniors, it may have positively affected their children and grandchildren.

1/ The only reason CPI has decreased is because government covered all child care fees so the cost of child care that contributes to CPI decreased 95%. Another contributed was education costs which decreased because some schools waived or deferred charging fees.
