Australian paceman Josh Hazlewood will reportedly miss the second Ashes Test in Adelaide after suffering a side strain in Brisbane.

Concerns were raised about the 30-year-old’s fitness after he did not bowl during the evening session of day three in the Gabba Test, which Australia won by nine wickets.

“I think we’ll wait until he wakes up in the morning. I think a key is we don’t want to put him in jeopardy for the whole series,” Cummins said.“There’s nothing scary enough to not bowl today but still a little bit just to make us want to manage him a little bit. According to the report, Hazlewood flew from Brisbane to Sydney on Sunday, rather than staying with the team that’s due to fly to Adelaide on Monday.
