Jos Buttler is the latest to give Australia’s cordon catching practice. He’s nibbled at one from Josh Hazlewood which moved just enough to make Buttler play.

On the second day, there was a fault in the technology connecting the side-on cameras to the video umpire which prevented him from calling no-balls. It affected the game as Ben Stokes had three no-balls that were missed before he bowled David Warner off a no-ball. If he had been notified or called he would most likely have corrected his run-up.

All that led up to today when the broadcast crashed. It left millions of viewers at home without any live pictures for several minutes. When the images did return, it was from a camera at one end, like the 1970s and Sheffield Shield highlights on the evening news. The pictures have come back. It’s old school. Camera from one end. This is embarrassing for Cricket AustraliaBoth networks have not been able to bring us live pictures over the last 10 minutes. There’s nothing to see right now.
