The Australian National University has officially ordered seven students to vacate a pro-Palestine encampment on campus, and says it will make similar orders to anyone else residing there.
A pro-Palestine protest at the Australian National University in Canberra on Thursday saw 250 students repeat demands that the university divest from weapons companies connected to the Israeli military. "To be clear, the university is not limiting your right to protest peacefully and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
"It's the moral issue of our day to try to fight against the genocide that's going on in Gaza," he said. "The encampment has demands to divest from companies that are associated with military operations in Israel, and ANUSA agrees with those peaceful and reasonable demands.
