The reactions to Josh Frydenberg's first budget came thick and fast last night as lobby groups and affected industries shared their view of the government's financial plan. 9News

The reactions to Josh Frydenberg's first budget came thick and fast last night as lobby groups and affected industries shared their view of the government's financial plan."The vacuousness of tonight’s dudget is matched only by the viciousness of the inequality," Dr John Falzon from independent think tank Per Capita said last night.

"When you're down there in a hairdressing salon or a workshop and you can now get $8000 instead of $4000 to support that apprentice, that's real money," Peter String from the Council of Small Business Australia said.Meanwhile, the political battle lines have been drawn along key aspects of the budget, including housing and wage prices.

"Behind every number, behind every forecast, is the uncertain impact of Australia's housing downturn," he said."What it does is not deliver anything about the fact that working people in Australia need fair wage increases," she said.

Seems to me that neither of the two major parties have much of a plan. One vows the voter with tax cuts the other with wage growth which inevitably results in higher inflation.

Federal Budget 2019: Australia, don't believe Josh Frydenberg's surplus until we see itThe government suffers from a peculiar confusion that equates writing down a plan on a piece of paper with collecting large bundles of cash. Pardon our scepticism, Scott, but we will believe the surplus when we see it. | OPINION I mean, Scott won't be PM to see it, so... It’s like saying “I’m going to go to the gym everyday for the next year and will lose 15kg” .... according to Morrison I’m healthier already It would be accurate and fair to say that they have exceeded their forecasts every year for the past 3 or 4 budgets
