Victorian authorities have been providing an update of the location of the 535 new coronavirus cases announced today. The northern suburbs of Melbourne continues to report the highest number of infections, but there is spread throughout the state, and new cases in the regions are posing a concern to authorities.
The number of Victorians in hospital continues to rise. There are now 207 people with the disease needing treatment but as has been the story for many weeks now, the vast majority of those have not been vaccinated.Mr Foley said 87 per cent had not been vaccinated at all and 12 per cent were partially vaccinated.
Victoria recorded 535 locally acquired cases of COVID today, the highest number since near the peak of the state’s second wave in August last year. “These restrictions are likely to cause significant disruption and we urge you to consider alternatives for any essential travel to and from these areas during this period,” the company told users in a statement.Nick Moir
According to information released by NSW Health, three of the six people who died were not vaccinated and three had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.The total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic has now reached 50,730.
