The Australian men’s team’s one-day international series against New Zealand, beginning on Friday at the SCG, will be played in empty stadiums as part of measures implemented by Cricket Australia to deal with the coronavirus crisis.

“We have taken strong action today in the face of an unprecedented public health issue,” Roberts said. “We believe this is the right decision to minimise the risk of public exposure to the coronavirus, which the World Health Organisation declared a global pandemic on Thursday. Changes are also likely for the Jaguares’ upcoming home matches against the Stormers on March 21 and Rebels on April 4.
