Liberal Senator stoker_aj says Australians need to have a “culture shift” in order to meet the increasing number of jobs available in regional Australia with the people who are struggling to find work.

Liberal Senator Amanda Stoker says Australians need to have a “culture shift” in order to meet the increasing number of jobs available in regional Australia with the people who are struggling to find work. It comes as the agriculture sector struggles through a major labour shortage, meaning there are a vast number of jobs available in regional Australia; yet the nation’s unemployment rate continues to dip as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Discussing the issue, Sky News host Alan Jones posed the question as, “how do we match this army of unemployed people with the army of jobs that are available”. “We need to open our minds to the adventure that this can be, there is an awful lot of incentive,” Ms Stoker told Mr Jones. “This can be the new gap year in circumstances where people won’t go overseas for a while. “Part of it requires a culture shift, we need to be willing to go where the work is.

Companies and manufacturer relations the 'main issue' with gas | Sky News AustraliaSky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the main issue with the federal government using gas as a platform for kickstarting onshore manufacturing is “what companies are charging manufacturers”. \n\nMr Morrison on Thursday announced a $1.5 billion manufacturing plan to assist pandemic recovery, which will see investments in six key areas. \n\nDuring a pre-budget speech to the National Press Club, Mr Morrison touted the government’s gas-fired recovery plan. \n\n“If you’re not for gas, you’re not for manufacturing and heavy industry in this country and the jobs,” he said. \n\nMr Clennell told Sky News “when it comes to manufacturing and getting it going, the PM again points to gas, pointing out that his National COVID Commission found that 20 to 40 per cent of the manufacturing cost in this country came from the price of gas'. \n\n“Gas prices have already come down to around $4 per gigajoule but long-term contracts gas companies are entering into with manufacturers remain at $7 to $8 a gigajoule'. \n\nMr Clennell revealed comments made from Australian businesses to the ACCC this year following the coronavirus pandemic. \n\n“There is still no certainty on gas prices on any horizon making business investment decisions difficult, particularly when our business is exploring growing its manufacturing asset base,” one large commercial gas user said.\n\n“There is no room to negotiate contracts. Or squeeze out costs. It’s a case of take it or leave it,” another user said. \n\n“So it turns out you can build as many gas plants as you want … but if you can't get the companies to play ball with the manufacturing companies you’re going to get nowhere,” Mr Clennell said. \n\n\n aclennell SCOTT MORRISON & ENTIRE LNP PARTY NEEDS TO BE TRIALED & LOCKED UP FOR LIFE, for propping up dirty, toxic fossil fuels & fuelling up climate emergency SAME GOES FOR LABOR'S APPROVALS OF NEW, DIRTY TOXIC COAL MINES in QUEENSLAND JAIL THEM ALL, INCLUDING CORRUPT MURDOCH MEDIA ! aclennell aclennell The main issue is that gas is more expensive the solar/wind and storage. Pope Francis has 'said nothing about Tibet, the Uighurs, Hong Kong or Taiwan' | Sky News AustraliaChaplains Without Borders Founder Father James Grant says “I can’t for the life of me” see why Pope Francis’ deal with the Communist Party of China needs to be secret. \n\nMr Bolt said this week American secretary of State Mike Pompeo flew to Rome “to plead with the Pope to not sign this shameful new deal” with communist China. \n\nThe Pope is preparing to extend a 2018 deal with the Chinese government, one which was set to expire in October. \n\nAs part of the deal, China is given input and “control over who may be a bishop in the Catholic Church in China,' Mr Bolt said. \n\n“Under this deal means it's the effectively China, not the Vatican, that appoints Catholic bishops,” Mr Bolt said. \n\n“If it was the case that Francis intended to go to China, and he intended to affirm Catholicism in China, and intended to criticise some of the things about the regime in China, that would be a very valuable thing, but he hasn’t said he wants to do that, he hasn’t even said he wants to do mission in China,' the Father said. \n\n“So we don’t know what exactly what it is that the Vatican gets out of this deal.\n\n'I can't for the life of me see why it needs to be secret.\n\n“It goes to another deeper level of what it means to be a Catholic, I also come to that view that Catholicism is about transforming people, but it’s also about transforming societies, and it’s got to speak out against societies that need change.\n\n“That would appear to be what’s happening in China.\n\n“There’s been no talk from the Pope at all, not about Tibet, not about the Uighurs, not about Hong Kong.\n\n“The situation in Taiwan’s getting a lot worse, and again, there are a lot of Catholics in Taiwan, and he seems to be very silent on that,' the Father said. \n FrJamesGrant I’ve been brought up as a Catholic but now I just say I’m a Christian! It tears my heart out but I’m horrified by the Holy Father! These secret deals with China go against what it means to be a Catholic & the way he speaks out abt c/change, alienates half his congregation! FrJamesGrant FrJamesGrant This evil son of a ....
