Australia will regret its overreaction to the COVID-19 crisis, especially when it comes to the expensive decision to close state borders, according to Sky News host Chris Kenny.

Queensland and South Australia have both placed restrictions on Victorians entering the state. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said while Victorians are barred from entering Queensland, other citizens from other states will be allowed in on July 10. “We don't stop driving because of the road toll,or shut down because of the annual loss of life from the flu, or close beaches because people drown every year,” Mr Kenny said.

“We have to judge risks, manage them and think about costs and benefits”. Given a vaccine is unlikely to emerge within the next 12 months, it is doubtful governments will still be panicking every time another state experiences a spike, Mr Kenny said. “So why are we creating fear and loathing, and crippling our economy now? “We have to learn to live with infections, slow them and manage them, we can't eradicate them.

Ridiculous analysis.

We’ll learn the lesson the hard way play games with China get involved in spats between them n USA u will get burnt

Chris Kenny ... nuf said 🙄

So since the Chinese flu hit has anyone actually had the normal flu or is it all under the same banner now. Asking for a friend. 🐑

Chris Kenny the imbecile who couldn't complete Park Management at Uni because it was too hard. Only thing he is good for is prechewing uncle Rupert's porridge

*looks at Australia* *looks at America* Yeah, nah. I’m pretty okay with most of the decisions we’ve made in handling this crisis.

Australia overreacted Well, what would immunologist, doctor, virologist Professor Chris Kenny have done. Let it go like America & hav dead bodies piled in trucks. Science leads the way here not sky news mouthpieces who like the sound of their own voice. coronavirusaustralia

Dead people can't vote labor

Get your opinions in quick Chris, when Jones starts you're out

Like all Australians I believe our Health and economic policies should come from Chris Kenny. That's because dickheads with NFI are where we should always look for guidance. Hey Sky News why haven't you sacked your bigots and racists yet ? Despicable.

Chris Kenny has a BA in journalism so he should do journalism and not pretend he is qualified to speak on anything.

Hmmm...… No.

Chris Kenny talks twaddle again. But, tbh, that's not actually news ☺

Another Murdoch stooge

Murdoch hack spewing misinformation. Murdoch is a cancer on democracy. What medical expert knowledge Chris Kenny has?

That sound you think you can hear is a half a million dead people calling Chris Kenny a moron...

I agree - destroyed the economy for what

Who’s Chris Kenny?

Oh, did you want 10k dead Chris? 🤔🤔🤔

What a moron ThisisNotJournalism

Chris Kenny is a second rate host, I would listen to first class leaders before him

I'd prefer an over reaction than death. 🙄

Chris Kenny is a maggot

Thanks Professor

We will regret this for a number of reasons. Financially been but a part of it. More so - we will regret never limiting government power to even enact such draconian lockdowns. We will regret forfeiting basic principles for the sake of an evasive ‘greater good’.

Thanks Chris we all appreciate your insight.

I don’t think that’s true. Australians can see fairly clearly the net result of COVID in countries where the virus has not been well managed The distribution of our daily cases shows the rise of COVID and the fall due to the Govt’s COVID rules

Piss off Chris Kenny

Oh so he’s a medical expert as well as a bullshit artist 😷🤬

Congratulations Chris Kenny, you've managed to outdo your usual stupidity, you really have taken it to the next level. 🙄🤣

It has been totally unjust to the Australian people. The way the government handled this has been beyond comprehension. It would not have taken much to simply close the international borders and require checks on those entering the country, while keeping the rest of it going.

You lose all credibility when you say ‘according to Chris Kenny’

Only regret is Chris Kenny popping up in my feed... piss off Chris...

Better than an underreaction.

Soooo...Victoria overreacted, and now it has a growing Covid case load? Tell that to the 100+ dead and their families Chris.

Yes we could have had over 10,000 dead too. Damm our Premiers!

Chris Kenny - grandmother killer and instant epidemiologist. If it looks like overreaction, then we probably did just enough....

No no.. Politicians will regret it when they are booted during the elections...
