Australia’s deputy chief medical officer has boasted that the country has “crushed” coronavirus after another drop in cases.

Yesterday the number of new cases of coronavirus recorded in all states and territories was just 11, as numbers have continued to steadily decline since late March.“It’s pretty much crushed I think, is what some countries are calling what they have done,” Dr Kelly said on Today.

On Thursday, Victoria recorded seven new cases of the virus, and NSW and Tasmania recorded both two new cases in their states. In South Australia health authorities have managed to go for more than a week without detecting a single case of the virus in the community.Health workers at a drive through clinic at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne. Pubs and restaurants will reopen across the NT on May 15, while golf, tennis, fishing or swimming with other people will be allowed from Friday. The initial stage of easing restrictions will also lift the ban on outdoor weddings and funerals. “We have been working on a suppression strategy, on a flatten the curve strategy, not really on a elimination strategy,” she told reporters in Canberra on Thursday.

Tasmania’s new cases are linked to a recent outbreak that affected hospital workers in the state’s north west.

Coronavirus: US death toll passes 60,000The US has passed another grim coronavirus milestone – one President Donald Trump didn’t expect it to reach for another three months. Not exactly accurate. The 60,000 number was the hopeful number based on what was being seen at the time due to social distancing and other mitigation. The White House originally projected 100,000 to 240,000. At least present the entire truth and not partial. More CNN fake news? But according to him they are killing it and leading the world in treatments?
