.adamgiles on strong house auction results: There’s no doubt in my mind that ScottMorrisonMP saved Australia. Those auction results are a sign of confidence going back into the economy. We need money going back into the housing market. MORE: pmlive

Sky News reporter Liz Tilley says the housing market is seeing a ‘dent in the road’ with auction clearance rates impacted the recent long weekend, despite the Reserve Bank of Australia cutting interest rates.

Sales slowed on the weekend, with only 800 properties taken to auction across the combined capital cities, with the clearance rate at 51 per cent, down from 58 per cent the week before. However, Ms Tilley says there is an increase in number of people applying for home loans, but this could take some time to filter through to the market. Image: News Corp Australia

adamgiles ScottMorrisonMP Negative 👎 gearing in full swing. Rich people are baying more houses 🏘 on taxpayers money. In meantime majority of Australians can’t afford to pay for rent, and every day you can see more and more people slipping in the streets. What a lucky 🍀 country we became.
