Tax authorities warn the full force of the law will be brought down upon people illegally accessing JobKeeper and early release of superannuation.

The Australian Taxation Office has confirmed it is referring dodgy JobKeeper claims that may have broken financial crime laws to the police, with the tax office already clawing back about $75 million in ineligible payments.

“Our response for those trying to deliberately rort the system is very different … we will bring down the full force of the law,” he said in his opening statement to the COVID-19 Senate committee. It is understood the ATO has not initiated any penalties or charges for people who have rorted either early release or JobKeeper.

Millions of Australians have been forced to go on government payment schemes due to the coronavirus pandemic. Picture: William West / AFPThrough a tax loophole, a person is able to withdraw money through the scheme tax free and then choose to salary sacrifice their pay into their superannuation at a lower tax rate.

The quicker JobKeeper is removed 'the better' | Sky News AustraliaAi Group CEO Innes Willox says the quicker JobKeeper is removed the better as Australia is still running “a two-speed economy”.\n\nOn Thursday the ABS released August’s jobs figures showing a decrease in the unemployment rate to 6.8 per cent.\n\nHowever, the majority of jobs added were part-time, meaning fewer hours were worked which results in lower productivity and lower output.\n\n“Although those were really promising figures yesterday, the next six months are going to pretty tough as we come off JobKeeper,” Mr Willox told Sky News.\n\n“People do have to start trying to find their way back into the workforce.\n\n“Employers need to start trying to find ways to employ again.” Dear Australia, I am happy to debate this. For those on Job Keeper / Seeker, The Government WILL NEVER remove keeper / seeker. Yes it will change name, may even reduce a small amount for publicity sake, but they will NEVER remove it. Why? Number of Hours worked WONT recover another Tory sticking their UNWANTED noses into Australian political decisions.. Innes Willox and The_AiGroup do not work in the interests of Australians or Australia. He is an apologist for rent seekers, oligopolies, cartels and donors. Mass immigration wage suppression is his agenda & not building a productive sustainable economy with real jobs and growth.

JobKeeper and JobSeeker 'critical for keeping unemployment numbers low' | Sky News AustraliaShadow Employment Minister Brendan O’Connor has welcomed the positive unemployment figures, largely attributing the positive outcome to the JobKeeper and JobSeeker welfare programs.\n\n“There is certainly some improvement and that’s a good thing,” he said.\n\nMr O’Connor said he thought it was “largely to do with the support of JobKeeper and JobSeeker and that’s why we would like the government to maintain that support”.\n\nHowever, from January 4 JobKeeper payments will be fall from $1,200 to $1,000 for full time workers and from $750 to $650 for part time workers.\n\n“That will mean a lot of money taken out of the economy'. \n\nMr O'Connor pointed out while the country is moving out of the pandemic, sectors of the economy such aviation, tourism, hospitality and accommodation, continue to be impacted and require support. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia FreeAssange You mean pretending that everyone is still employed because of jobkeeper will make the situation LOOK better? Not even sure why people think the unemployment figures are relevant until jobkeeper is stopped? 🤔

Government has made a 'deliberate decision not to help universities': Plibersek | Sky News AustraliaShadow Education Minister Tanya Plibersek says the government has made a 'deliberate decision not to help universities' by excluding university workers from the JobKeeper subsidy program. \n\nShe told Sky News more than 10,000 university jobs had been lost since the outset of the pandemic, a figure she claimed would go much higher if they received minimal government support.\n\n'If the coal industry, if iron ore, if gas had lost 10,000 jobs already, the government would be there with JobKeeper to help,' Ms Plibersek said. \n\n“Right now the government is trying to cut billions more and double the cost of thousands of degrees at a time when we should be making it easier for kids to get an education. \n\n“I really want university bosses to stand up against that, some have, some have been fantastic. But others have just rolled out and had their tummies tickled.'\n\nMs Plibersek said students should be encouraged to 'go to TAFE or university rather than joining the dole queue'. \n\n'This government is doing the exact opposite,' she said.\n\n“This is bad for university staff, it’s terrible for students.\n\n“As a sector, the universities need to band together and call it out because, as I say, if this was any other industry of this scale and the government turned its back in the way this government has on universities, there would be an outcry.” \n\nImage: Getty tanya_plibersek who cares what this thing has to say tanya_plibersek Good.Ask the chinese for some help. tanya_plibersek Universities ARE the problem; From their special relationship to China; To their politicised modelling of future Covid deaths; To their politicised promotion of Climate Change; To their support for BLM & Antifa;Defund our Racist & Marxist Universities & Australia will be better off.

Education chief and top cop step in to end violence at trouble-plagued schoolA security crackdown is announced for a WA high school where female victims have suffered broken bones, bruising, hair loss, and deep scratches from attacks on and off campus. When a serious issue like this is found, it is important to find where else it happens and take action. It is also important to identify poor controls allowing it to get to such a serious stage with no response and fix that. Bandaids only go so far.
