Lawyers for the tech giant are fighting the allegations and the matter is listed today in the West Australian District Court. Forrest said the adverts' real victims were small-time investors who often lost their hard-earned savings after being lured into scams by the use of his image. "But to protect vulnerable people from your platforms being used by criminal syndicates to steal from innocent people."When Forrest launched the case in 2022 it was the first time Meta had been prosecuted with criminal charges - three counts of recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime to the value of $1000 or more - related to its social media platform.
