Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has vowed to ensure the Morrison government upholds its vaccination rollout plan – warning the prime minister needed to be held to account. Prime Minister Scott Morrison today announced TGA approval has been granted to Australia’s first coronavirus vaccine, committing to four million people being vaccinated by the end of March. Mr Albanese touted the announcement as “great news”, but cautioned there was still a job to be done.
“Vaccines don’t save lives, vaccinations do,” he said. “Labor, as all Australians should, have absolute faith in the process of the TGA, we said consistently that once the TGA approval occurred the vaccine should be rolled out as soon as possible.” “We’ll be holding him[Morrison] to account on that because it appears that that’s going the way of the commitment that all Australians who were stranded overseas would be home by Christmas.
